Privacy policy
Effective date: November 8, 2026
This is our privacy policy and our notice to parents under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
The short version
- Zoorithmetic is a free math facts website today, and a practice app for families is coming. This policy explains how this website handles information now, and how the app will handle your family's information when it launches.
- The free practice pages on this website need no sign-up, have no forms and do not set cookies, and the website has no analytics and no ads. They do not ask for any information about you or your child. A parent who creates an account or signs in, in the app or in the website's parent account area, gets one session cookie for that sign-in. It is strictly necessary to keep you signed in and is never used for tracking.
- There are no ads and no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking code on this website or in the app, and we will never sell your family's information.
- In the app, no information about a child reaches our server until a parent has given consent.
- Parents can review, export and delete their child's information at any time.
Who we are
Zoorithmetic is operated by Hausbound, LLC, 1300 Rt 17 North Ste 1, Ramsey, NJ 07446. You can reach us by email at support@zoorithmetic.com or by phone at (201) 785-7309. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Hausbound, LLC.
Zoorithmetic is made for children learning their math facts, so it is directed to children under 13. COPPA applies to it, and this policy is our notice to parents under that law.
This website
The free practice pages on this website need no sign-up, have no forms and do not set cookies, and the website has no analytics and no ads. They do not ask for any information about you or your child. A parent who creates an account or signs in, in the app or in the website's parent account area, gets one session cookie for that sign-in. It is strictly necessary to keep you signed in and is never used for tracking. Game progress is saved only in your browser, on your device, and is never sent to us. The site also keeps a copy of its pages on your device so practice works offline.
Like any website, our hosting provider receives the technical details your browser sends to load a page, such as your IP address. We do not use them to identify you. They are kept for up to 30 days.
If we start counting visits, we will count only totals per day, page and action (for example, a game started), with no IP address, cookie or identifier of any kind.
Later, this website will add a page where a parent can ask for an email when the app launches, and a page to buy the app as a gift. Both are for adults, and neither is on a page with a game or quiz.
Who will use the app
- A parent creates the family account, gives consent and manages everything. A parent can invite a second parent.
- Children practice their math facts. Children never sign in or create an account. A family can add up to 6 children.
- A person who buys the app as a gift gives only an email address and the billing details our payment processor needs.
- Before a parent creates an account, a child can practice as a guest. Guest practice stays on the device, and nothing is sent to us.
What we will collect about children
Only a parent can add a child to the family account, and we collect the minimum the app needs:
- A nickname, an avatar and a grade band, entered by the parent.
- The practice settings a parent chooses: which facts and topics are turned on, a weekly practice goal, short cheers the parent sends, quiz-date plans and summer review settings.
- Practice results: which facts your child practiced and how each answer went, and the results of the September check.
We will never ask for or store a child's real name, birth date, photo, voice, location or email address, and the app has no place to enter them.
What we will collect about adults
From parents:
- Your email address. It is the only kind of personal identifier we keep about you. You can sign in with email, Sign in with Apple or Google sign-in. Sign in with Apple may give us a private relay address instead of your email. Apple and Google may also send us your name and photo; we discard them. With Apple or Google we keep only your email address, the Apple or Google account ID that links your sign-in, and the sign-in token they give us. We use an Apple token only to cancel your Sign in with Apple when you remove your login or delete the family.
- Your consent records: which version of this notice you accepted, when, and how, and when we sent and delivered your confirmation email.
- If you change your email address: your old and your new address together, only until we have emailed your old address that it changed, and for at most 25 hours. Then that copy is deleted.
- Purchase records: the amount, the date, where you bought (our website, the App Store, Google Play or a gift) and the payment processor's reference. We never see or store your full card number.
- When you share a progress summary from your device, only the fact that a share was made and for which period, never where it went.
The 4-digit parent PIN stays on your device. We do not keep your IP address or device details with your sign-in. To stop repeated requests, a scrambled form of the IP address is kept for up to 24 hours.
From a parent who asks to hear when the app launches: only an email address and when you signed up and confirmed.
From gift buyers: an email address, for the gift code and receipt, and the billing address our payment processor needs to calculate sales tax. A gift buyer is never asked about a child.
Parental consent
No information about a child reaches our server until a parent has read this notice in the app and given consent. We confirm consent this way: first you confirm your email address; then you give consent in the app; at least 24 hours later we email you to restate what we collect and how to withdraw consent and delete your child's information, with one link that does it.
A second parent confirms their own email address and gives their own consent before they can see any child's information.
If this notice changes, the app asks for your consent again before it backs up your child's practice.
You can withdraw consent at any time with the link in that email. If you are the only parent with a login, withdrawing consent deletes your family account right away, as described below. If another parent shares the account, it ends your own access, and the family and its children stay with the other parent, who gave their own consent.
Parental consent is the basis for everything we collect about a child. The only exception is the error report described below, which carries no identifier and is used only to keep Zoorithmetic working.
How we will use information
- To run your child's practice, choose which facts come next and show progress, and to keep that progress the same on every device your family signs in to.
- To send parents a weekly summary of each child's practice. It uses only the child's nickname, has no tracking pixel, and you can turn it off with one click.
- To run your account and purchases, and to send the emails the service needs: sign-in links, your consent confirmation, a second parent's invite, gift codes, notices before anything is deleted, a link to confirm a new email address, and a security notice to your old address when your email address changes.
- To keep the service secure and to find and fix errors.
We will never sell your family's information, never show ads and never build advertising profiles.
Who sees your child's information
We never disclose a child's information to third parties. Inside the app, only the parents in your family can see it. An email that mentions a child goes only to a parent in that family who has confirmed their email address and given consent.
A parent can share a short progress summary (nickname, facts mastered, facts to work on and practice days) from their own device, for example with a teacher. It is made on your device, and we never receive the recipient's address. Copies you share are outside our control.
No ads and no tracking
There are no ads in Zoorithmetic. This website and the app contain no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking code.
This website will send us a short report when one of its pages hits an error, so we can fix it. The report carries no identifier of any kind: it has the error's name, a shortened message with anything that looks like an email address or a long number removed, the type of page, the site version and the day. It never includes cookies, your IP address, your browser or device type, or the address of the page you were on. We use these reports only to keep Zoorithmetic working, and we delete them after 90 days.
The app contains no crash-reporting code. We see only the crash reports that Apple and Google pass on to app developers.
Companies that help us run Zoorithmetic
We use a small number of service providers. Each receives only the information it needs to do its job for us.
- Hosting and server functions, which deliver this website and the app's data.
- Database storage, where your family's information is kept.
- Email delivery through Mailgun, for the emails described above.
- Payments through Stripe (including sales tax), and through the Apple App Store and Google Play for purchases made in the app.
- Sign in with Apple and Google sign-in, if a parent chooses one of them.
We disclose information only when the law requires it. If Zoorithmetic is sold, we will tell parents first and give them the chance to delete their family's information, and any buyer must keep it under this policy. If Zoorithmetic closes, we delete all family information.
How long we keep information
Nothing about your child is kept forever.
- A child's profile, settings and practice results are kept while your family has an account, until a parent deletes them.
- If no parent signs in and no device backs up practice for 24 months, we delete your children's information. We email the parent who owns the account 30 days before, and any sign-in or practice backup in those 30 days cancels it.
- Weekly summaries and reports kept on our server are cleared 90 days after they are sent.
- Website error reports are deleted after 90 days.
- An email address left to hear about the launch is deleted 30 days after the launch email is sent, or as soon as you unsubscribe.
- A gift buyer's email address is deleted 90 days after the gift code is used, refunded or expires.
- The scrambled IP address used to stop repeated requests is deleted within 24 hours.
- When you change your email address, the copy of your old and new address kept to tell your old address about the change is deleted once that email is sent, and after 25 hours at most.
- Purchase records (amount, date, where bought and the payment reference, never any child information) are kept for 7 years after the purchase, for tax law, and then deleted.
- Deleted information may stay in encrypted backup copies for up to 30 days, and then it is gone.
Deleting your family's information
- Any parent can delete a child's profile at any time. This removes the child's practice results, profile, goals, cheers, quiz-date plans, September check results and reports from our server and from your family's devices.
- Deleting the whole family account needs every parent with a login to agree. If you are the only parent with a login, it happens right away after you confirm. If another parent has a login, we email them and show the request in the parent area: the family is deleted as soon as they agree, and any parent can stop the deletion. If they neither agree nor stop it, the family is deleted 30 days after our email reached them; if our email cannot reach them, nothing is deleted. The family keeps working until then, and the other parent keeps their own login.
- Any parent can remove their own login and information at any time. The family and its children stay with the other parent. If you are the last parent with a login, this deletes the family.
We confirm every deletion by email. Deleted information leaves our backup copies within 30 days. A purchase made in the App Store or Google Play can be restored to a new account; a purchase made on our website, or a redeemed gift, ends with the deleted account, and we tell you this before you confirm.
Your rights as a parent
- Review: see your child's information and progress in the parent area, and export a child's information at any time, free.
- Delete: delete a child's profile or the whole family, as described above.
- Refuse further collection: withdraw consent, and we stop collecting information about your child.
You can also ask us to do any of these by email, mail or phone (see Contact us below). To protect your family, we confirm that a request comes from a parent: a parent can make it while signed in to the app, or reply from the email address on the family account. For a request by mail or phone, we confirm it by email to that address.
We will not ask a child for more information than practice needs, and a child never has to give information to practice.
How we will protect information
Only our own server can reach the database, and every request is checked to make sure it comes from a parent in that family. Our keys and passwords are kept apart from our code. Backups are encrypted and age out within 30 days. We will keep a written information security program and review it every year. You can read a summary of it on our security page.
United States only
Zoorithmetic is offered only in the United States, and purchases are available only to United States customers.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. In the app, each parent is asked to consent again before their child's practice is backed up again.
